A great team—Pittsburgh Rotary and Chuck Tanner
Rotary International is an organization dedicated to humanitarian service, high ethical standards in all vocations, and goodwill and peace in the world. The Rotary Club of Pittsburgh is part of Rotary District 7300, currently made up of approximately 1500 Rotarians from Allegheny, Beaver and parts of Westmoreland Counties. Our Pittsburgh Club is comprised of more than 100 community business and organizational leaders committed to improving the quality of life in the community, the nation and the world.
The Pittsburgh Rotary Club has many reasons for hosting this event in honor of Chuck Tanner. Of course, the Club seeks to raise money for the good works of Rotary and to increase public awareness of Rotary projects. The money raised from this event helps us fund a number of worthwhile projects.
Another important motivation for this event is to honor Chuck Tanner, a man who personified what is good about baseball and reminds us of past baseball glories in Pittsburgh. This annual event also provides a major sports banquet for Pittsburgh where fans can celebrate baseball and honor those whose distinguished leadership is so important to the success of their teams. The highly coveted Chuck Tanner awards recognize those who, like Chuck Tanner, represent dedication to sport, but also dedication to excellence and integrity.
We meet Wednesdays at noon at:
Omni William Penn Hotel
555 Grant Street
Pittsburgh, PA 15219
